Hi! I'm Diana Jane Heath and I am the owner of Creatives Destination. I believe that the written word is incredibly versatile and powerful; it has the power to inspire, teach, entertain, and to challenge our expectations and perceptions of the world around us. The task of a creative writer is brilliantly summed by author Joseph Conrad, “My task, which I am trying to achieve is, by the power of the written word, to make you hear, to make you feel - it is, before all, to make you see.”
My writing repertoire includes book reviews, blog posts, drama and documentary screenwriting, feature articles, and anything in-between.
I have over 20 years of experience in office administration, clerical support and customer service: ranging from finance to marketing, and governmental departments. I have even worked in an art shop, selling art supplies, and framing artworks.
My passion for writing inspired me to embark upon a literary sea-change (as I like to call it) into the academic world. This online literary sea-change was made possible through the amazing team at Open Universities Australia, and Griffith University. I am now the proud owner of a bachelor of communication with two majors in screen studies and creative writing.
As well as Creatives Destination, I also have a travel blog www.tourist-travel-tips.com, which provides a blog and tips for Top Places to Visit in Sydney, as well as my own personal travel tales from around the globe.
My creative writing articles have been featured in online publications such as www.ezinearticles.com, and my short stories have been published in the Fiction, Unearthed Fiction, and Life & Love magazines, which are part of the online publication, The Australia Times, as well as www.short-story.me
I have worked as a volunteer editor for Unearthed Fiction magazine, which is part of The Australia Times,
I currently write buying guides and product reviews for the gardening and lifestyle website Morning Chores.
If you love reading short stories, I have recently published a collection of short stories, Tales for the Sisterhood, which is available for purchase through Amazon as a Kindle eBook, and as a paperback. (check out a sample from the book, The Tale of Ruthie and Grace. You can also visit my author page at http://amazon.com/author/dianajheath
