My creative journey began when I was a child. I was always getting into trouble for day-dreaming or writing stories when I should have been focusing on school work. At home I used to write and direct plays with my friends.
My love of creative writing stems from my love of books, and I am a big believer in the mantra that the best way to become a good creative writer, is to be a dedicated reader. The humble book has extraordinary powers. It has the power to expand your vocabulary, and develop and inspire your imagination.
Over the years I have developed a wide reading list. Among my favourite books are: Anne of Green Gables, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Lord of the Rings, and the intriguing exploits of the consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes. That reading list has now grown to include a plethora of international, and home-grown Aussie writers such as: Josephine Cox, Sophie Kinsella, Marian Keyes, A. S. Byatt, Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson, Kate Forsyth, Sara Foster, and the list continues…
